About

Definition:Music is a down-to-earth, nonchalant label that lives somewhere between house and techno, with a diversity that never loses sight of the common theme.

Founded in 2011 by Definition (Dimitri Schnider) and Def:Play (Akin Oender), and run by Definition today, the label starts from the fact that a lot of electronic music is hard to classify - which makes its own idea of quality club music all the more important.

Like all things, it started with an idea. Inspired by imprints like Cadenza, Noir Music and Get Physical, the two set out to build a platform for their own taste, and for their ear for musical talent.

Shortly after the foundation, Definition:Music curated a considerable artist roster: Reboot, Darius Syrossian, Josh Butler and Sidney Charles are just a few of the names in the ever-growing catalog.

Definition:Music is an uncompromising label with its feelers out in every direction: the idea that counts is quality. Definition does not just want to survive in a competitive market, but to influence it, inspire it and act as a catalyst.
