Two tracks off the 'Progression LP', handed to two producers who took them in opposite directions.
Gabriel Ananda strips 'Caught Out' back and lets it take its time - nine minutes of patient, hypnotic minimal built on a single synth figure, close to the register of his own 'Solitary Daze' with Maceo Plex.
ARTBAT go the other way with 'Come Down'. Droning synths, all pressure and forward motion - the sound they had made their own by the end of 2016.

ARTBAT and Definition turn up to produce an amazing banger for the floor. 'Inside' is the latest single that packs a big punch with style. From the opening kick, to the dramatic piano crashes - the track means business.
The composition is delightful, creating an epic atmosphere for the huge track to flex its muscles. Midway through we're treated to a delicious vocal, creating a tension that peaks in the second half in a very satisfying way. This is a track we're eager to share and we think you're about to hear much more of it in the near future.

Artbat rips open a delicious EP with 'Chivvy / Momentum' on Definition:Music. A two track affair, 'Chivvy / Momentum' sets out to take some serious crowds head on.
A dirty bassline sequence writhes to form the meat of 'Chivvy'. From there, the duo takes the track further with thumping kicks, adding even more pressure with each note of the melody. A fantastic late night journey.
'Momentum' shifts the focus off of the flexed muscles of Chivvy, and into an equally energizing subtler realm. This is a dark underground track, with the vocal monologue adding to the natural feel of the track. Two distinct flavors, each packing heat, making for an outstanding EP.

ARTBAT return to Definition:Music after their last release, Mandrake EP gained loads of support from heavy hitters like Richie Hawtin, Umek, Olivier Giacomotto and more. This time they've come with Saltation, a collaboration with Definition, as well as an original paired with a Joal remix.
First things first, the title track slowly opens its dark doors and lets the cool air flow as the energy slowly rises. As we get closer we see just how deep it gets as the kicks return and things really pick up. A great atmosphere, solid production and a brilliant bassline carry this track throughout.
Upcast gives off more of a deep house vibe thanks to a seducing percussion. As the track opens itself further it lifts everything higher and further before dropping you back onto the dancefloor.
Joal gives the track a tech-house feel and explores the subtler sides of the track, giving it a glowing after-hour feel.

Ukrainian duo Artbat make their first appearance on Definition:Music with a fantastic 2-track dancefloor killer. 'Mandrake' is a beast of a track, coming right out of the gates with deep kicks and high pads. The track wastes no time in building itself even higher with a simple, melodic bassline and, ultimately securing its spot as a peak-time track.
'Dissolved In Time' follows suit, yet with a warmer vibe. Big drums sprinkled throughout give it power as the warmth of the pads pull the track together and fill the room with an amazing ambience. An amazing EP manicured for the late-night dancefloor enthusiast.
