- Trojan Love (Sunset Mix) - Definition, Natascha Polké - 5:40
- Trojan Love (Tim Engelhardt Remix) - Definition, Natascha Polké - 6:50
'Trojan Love' plays tricks on your mind. Underground-feel meets organic sounds in the club mix version of Trojan Love, the latest collaboration of Definition and Natascha Polké. The track is highly nuanced from start to finish. Light, understated synth patterns keep teasing and rising, every now and then slipping through a filter to gain prominence. A throbbing bassline takes up all the space. Together with driving percussion it builds endlessly, until it's cut by uncompromising silence - only pierced by the disarming voice of Natascha Polké. (When the weighty bass rolls back in, total ecstasy). Somehow this track manages to increase in its intensity again and again, we rise and fall, led by melodious lines played on a dulcimer and a punchy kick that gives the track its potency.
Mindfully placed string elements bring in additional layers of ethereal vibes in the sunset mix of Trojan Love. Haunting, yet somehow light and playful they marry melancholy with humble attention to detail and feather-light percussion. Melodic dulcimer patterns flow like the stream of a waterfall and take over our moving bodies like a rolling bliss. Dream-like interludes let us catch our breaths just long enough to submerge anew. Natascha Polké has managed to create a consistency in the remarkable wide variety of this track that makes it the perfect place to get lost in comfortably - it feels like watching the sun rise and set over and over again.
Tim Engelhardt's remix of Trojan Love, the latest collaboration between Definition and Natascha Polké, is a skilful slow-burner pairing an ever-present melancholic atmosphere with organic programming. The producer weaves subtly disorientating vocal effects into harmonic fluidity with ease, underpinning it all with a steady beat that could carry us to the end of time. Engelhardt's manipulation of space is unparalleled. Racing synths and carefully placed melodic fragments take us on a deep journey, floating yet minimal, dark yet comforting - and wistful throughout.

- Wildfire - Natascha Polké - 5:24
- Burning Out (Definition Remix) - Natascha Polké - 7:06
- Burning Out (Night Talk Remix) - Natascha Polké - 7:32
Natascha Polké's "Burning Out" EP is the follow-up release to "Stars Wrapped In Skin". It ties in seamlessly, bringing back the haunting qualities, fragile textures and driving beats the artist is known for. Whilst glistening in melancholy, the songs on this second release are just as upbeat and danceable. A release demanding to be played at hazy summer get-togethers as it gets late and we get lost in the rhythm of the night.
It kicks off with "Burning Out", a spheric track where organic sounds meet disarmingly intimate vocals. A soundscape that keeps building and falling like gushing waves. Nostalgic call and response movements carry us into the unknown of our inner universe with an irresistible groove, much like our own heartbeat, leading the way.
Next up: "Wildfire". A track with an atmosphere that lures you in and plays with your mind, teasing with enticing percussion and warped synths before making way for stunningly performed vocals. It fuses classic techno feel with contemporary aesthetics. Melody lines floating over a relentless groove guiding us straight into a dreamy soundscape. You can't help but dive in and it feels so good.
Launching straight into the breakbeat percussion and uncompromising synth line, Definition's remix of "Burning Out" enters the room like it's here to stay. The producer blends rough rawness with fragility, ties in thunder-like build-ups with intricate vocals and metallic synth stabs, harsh like blades. A remix that lives to be blasted in clubs and will easily demolish dance floors all over the world. This track is unrelenting, and you don't want it to stop.
The second remix stems from Night Talk. He's created a slow burner, a tune that keeps on building, where he skilfully controls the releases of energy, and places it exactly where and when it's needed. This remix is minimalistic and almost hypnotic in its darkside vibes.

DMU088 - Stars Wrapped In Skin EP - Natascha Polké
Released 2021-03-19
Remix by Aparde
- Stars Wrapped In Skin - Natascha Polké - 5:52
- I Don't Mind - Natascha Polké - 5:23
- Neverland - Natascha Polké - 4:06
- Neverland (Aparde Remix) - Natascha Polké - 6:27
The Definition:Music crew is more than happy to introduce a new member to their artist family and therefore we're sending a warm welcome to Natascha Polké. Backed by extensive studies in the UK metropolis of London, inspired by artists like Christian Löffler or Jan Blomqvist and drawing from her ever growing DJ & nightlife experience, which already saw Natascha Polké taking over slots at the famed Hive Club and other places, the Zurich-based artist developed a unique approach to what she describes as dreamy, melody-driven Electronica.
The title track and opener "Stars Wrapped In Skin" starts on a complex, melodically intricate level, combining warm, analogue basslines and crystalline motifs for the dancefloor whilst Natascha Polké's tender and fragile vocals add a certain element of beauty, melancholia and masterly sculpted sonic poetry, no matter if this tune is hammered through a big club P.A. or played on late night radio.
"I Don't Mind" indulges in deeply felt, most beauteous dancefloor melancholia and turns out to be one perfect closing tune for a long and ecstatic night out that's about to end way after the wee hours have passed.
With "Neverland" we see Natascha Polké's love for the dancefloor and huge basslines manifest once again, this time fusing with cascading synth lines and hyper-harmonic arrangements whilst her distinct vocal style harks back to a history of well beloved big time bangers, which left a mark and carved out their niche within the global musical consciousness and extended beyond the realm of club culture over the course of the past 25 years.
Last but not least: The subsequent "Neverland Aparde Remix" alters the original cut only slightly and takes the vibe to an even dreamier, more harmonic level perfectly suitable for daytime or early morning sets fully dedicated to a style oftentimes referred to as Melodic House - garnished with a bit of Natascha Polké's unique Indietronica twist, ofc.
Out March 2021 via Definition:Music

- Siren feat. Natascha Polké (Audiojack Remix) - Definition, Natascha Polké - 6:08
On the 13th November 2020 Definition's latest venture will see the light of day. The collaboration features artist Natascha Polké, providing hauntingly beautiful whispers and spoken word elements that hypnotise instantly, luring the listener into another world, like the call of an unknown siren.
The tune is mesmerising and thrilling in its simplicity - a six-minute journey that marries minimalism with distinctively dreamy bell action, creating a gleaming soundscape spacious enough to get lost in. Skillfully tied together by ever-evolving reverb tails, grounding synth sounds and a beat that drives, calmly and steadily, "Siren" is bound to captivate.
The release comes alongside a remix by Audiojack. The duo's version is underpinned by their trademark - a distinctively pumping beat that leaves you no choice but to dance along to. Putting heavy emphasis on stereo spread lo-fi synth effects and exquisite dynamics that leap and fall like roaring waves they've created a version of the song that can carry us away for days.
